2. The Better User Experience Through Storytelling article emphasizes the importance of connection with the user through storytelling. The experiences a designer creates through clear communnication and structured designs allow the user to relate and empathize with the content. As designers it is important to gain insight and understanding of the prime audience to target. By framing my project in a story format, I'm able to step into the consumers shoes and acknowledge the relationship between the user and the content. My project idea encompasses storytelling through music since I believe that the emotions people often associate with music offers a universal connection to others. It's important for me to create a narrative through songs that users can empathize with because their understanding will compel them to have a deeper relationship with the content.
3. Use different typefaces and weights; different font sizes; consider the positve and negative space of the type; have a limit of how many typefaces used on a page for contrast; add color for emphasis; and adjust letter and line spacing to create dynamic visuals. Paul Rand Design

Creative Brief

I want to create a narrative playlist library that curates conceptualized themes or moods to site visitors through the use of music.

The Problem

Currently, there is no website specifically designed for storytelling through songs. Most sites allow users to create playlists, but there is no added narrative or guide that can assist in further immersion.

Audience

The target audience includes people who enjoy story narratives and music. There is usually a universal appreciation for music, especially those within the range of adolescent and beyond. They would be at stages of their life where they become independent and branch out their interests, or the users could be seeking nostalgia and familiar emotional narratives to find support in.

Competition

I believe competitors would be other music streaming services, like Spotify or Apple Music. While these applications host a large music library and have the capabilities to create playlists, they lack the storytelling and guided narrative.

How to Measure Success

I want to add a comment section where users can give their thoughts on a certain playlist or a click tracker -- which would track how many users have clicked on a narrative playlist.
