For my semester project, I will design an immersive music experience through a story narrative. My goal is to garner user engagement by creating an interactive experience. Down below, I will explain the conclusion I've drawn with each discussion with each hat.
The layout of the website is currently a work in progress, but I have a general idea of the information I want to display. I want to have at least 3 to 5 songs with a narrative to accompany the experience. Currently, I need to decide on narrative/thematic ideas and how I will be guiding the user through the website to ensure they are engaged and interested in the content. I also need to decide if I want to use instrumental music or music with lyrics.
I'm very excited about the idea and think the execution will need work and time. I have a hunch that I have to flesh out some ideas so that the concept and design are more legible.
I have come to the conclusion I need to carefully consider the scope of work for my project. What are things I can keep, and what are things I can get rid of to make my project enjoyable for the user? It could potentially be difficult for the user to pay attention and be engaged the whole time if the website is not developed and presented correctly.
This project has the potential to immerse the user in a visual and auditory experience. I will have to consider the use of visuals for this project to make the website more attractive to the user. It would be similar to the Van Gogh immersive experience but less complex!
I think an important aspect to consider is the scope of work for my project. Currently, it is too complex and needs to be simplified. Due to the current complexity, I might be compromising the user's engagement, so I will need to re-work the idea to balance user engagement and visual interest of the website.
For my semester project, I will design an immersive music experience through a story narrative. The main idea has not changed, but I now need to carefully consider the scope of work. The complexity needs to be simplified, and the narrative should be fleshed out more so that I have a better idea of the concept I would like to convey.
